Question about finger nails?

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

When my nails grow out most of them start to bend and not grow out straight. It is even hard for me to get fake nails because they usually fall off. They don't look unhealthy, just once they get past the tips of my fingers they start to not look right. My friend said it might be a deficiency in something.

Help!Question about finger nails?
it could just be genetics, ask if your mom or dad has that problem

but if i were you i'd just get fake nails like i have them now cause my nails always grow at different times like some are long, some are short, etc

or just cut them?? or try filing them also, that might helpQuestion about finger nails?
it could be a deficiency in calcium - do you eat/drink enough dairy?

also are you eating enough oily fish such as tuna, mackral, salmon because a deficiency in essential fatty acids coud also be a cause.

also try applying a nail strengthener on them nail envy by O.P.I is absolutley amaaazing and is the nu,ber 1 in the world for nail care.

How can i get rid of my bad habit of bighting my finger nails?

Pick your nose alot... hey thats as good an answer as you gave me! lol
Try purchasing clear nail polish that is bitter in taste when you chew on your fingernails.

Sally Hanson has this product.
chew gum, put tape around your fingers, keep nail plolish on them ALL the time!
think of all the microscopic bugs you are ingesting. mmmm they taste good
cut your fingers off that will HELP
Now that you have realized biting finger nails is a bad habit you are sure going to overcome this habit .Furthermore if you continue biting your finger nails your fingers are going to look very , very UGLY.
put something nasty tasting under your nails every morning. you can try hot sauce, lemon juice, vinegar, not using toilet paper...
Wear gloves or mittens.
actually if you get acrylic nails for awhile you can't bite those. after you have had them on for awhile you just eventually lose the urge to chew your nails all the time. slowly the urge just goes away. nail biting is actually a nervous habit. people tend to do when they are anxious, nervous, angry, or even scared. when you bite your nails evaluate the situation you are in at the time. figure out why you do it and that might help eliminate you doing it all together. to solve a problem you have to find the cause of the problem first.
keep hands busy and away from your mouth

keep doing things with your hands
Try putting Alum on the tips of your fingers. That is what my mother did when I was little, and it really works.
GO GET SOME HOT PEPPERS , CHOPPED WITH UR BARE HANDS.. BEWARE DONT TOUCH YOUR FACE OR EYES ANYWHERE LOL

Do you really have little bugs under your finger nails?

We have little bugs (bacteria) everywhere, especially under the fingernails.Do you really have little bugs under your finger nails?
Everyone has little microscopic bugs all over their bodies. No matter how much you clean yourself, you will never get rid of them all. It's just the way we're built.Do you really have little bugs under your finger nails?

FQ: Was that the best game of football since the 2-2 last season between the two?Fellow Gooners, do you have any of you finger nails/pen lids left? (Utd fans can answer too)?
    good game, very entertaining!

but i think a few poor individual performances cost us the game...

not taking anything away from arsenal... a well deserved victory.. :)Fellow Gooners, do you have any of you finger nails/pen lids left? (Utd fans can answer too)?
Nails were gone in the first half and little hair remaining on my head. LOL :D

FQ: Yes I rate this win higher because both teams did brilliantly to open up defences but even if the perfomances on the final third was not as great, the win was deserved for this team which dint get its share of luck over the last few games.
That was a cracking game... (losing aside) excellent... well done GUNNERS.. ok,, now that congrats are out of the way.. 鈽?br>

.. i'm not that surprised .. I think I know better than to have thought (like some did) that this was gonna be an easy game for us... no matter how many players you had out/injured...

all players are up for the Man Utd game... even TOURE played well when he came on..lol鈽?and you won't find a post (ANYWHERE) of me predicting an away win..

Can you get sun burn under your finger nails and toe nails?

LolCan you get sun burn under your finger nails and toe nails?
Um, unless there aren't any nails then no, I don't think so.

Why do we have finger nails?

Why do we have finger and toe nails?

    Why do they do?

Do we really need them? Why do we have finger nails?
i'm pretty sure its to protect the nerves at the tips of our fingers like have u ever cut your nails to short? it hurts cause the tips of your fingers are filled with nerve ending that allow you to feel things and they r really sensitive. and obviously cause they r fun to put nail polish on. jk. if that isn't what your looking for try typing in on googleWhy do we have finger nails?
As a guy who doesn't cut his fingernails, I don't understand why we cut them. They're incredibly useful - from opening packages to scratching myself to killing live animals in the woods, and slicing people's hands when they try to give me a handshake.. I love my fingernails and can't imagine life without them. As for toenails, who knows, they seem to just get ingrown and painful.
They may be a result of the fact that we descended from creatures who had claws which were used for climbing trees and digging in the soil fro find bugs to eats. So you can see that our claws have been greatly reduced through hundreds of thousands of years of evolution.
Nails have evolved from claws or talons showing our evolutionary descent

Does stress make your finger nails go brittle?

Depends on whether you are so stressed that your eating habits have changed. Nails grow using calcium, just as your bones do.

Lack of calcium will make brittle nails. Drink more milk or take calcium supplements and buy a clear polish with calcium in it.Does stress make your finger nails go brittle?
    Hi!

Yes, speaking from experience, stress can cause a whole load of problems, brittle nails being one of them.

Try taking a multivitamin containing Zinc as this is proven to help in the re-growth of nails, skin and hair. There is also a supplement you could take called skin, hair and nails which is available in places like Holland and Barrett (probably also your local chemists but may go under a different name) which will help to keep your nails healthy. You could also try a product could Silicea which will help repair the damage to your nails. Always check with your pharmacist before taking any of the above and ask whether it is best to take only one supplement/vitamin at a time rather than a combination.

Hope this helps.Does stress make your finger nails go brittle?
it shouldnt do? bad diet could though and age? use oil for your nails and apply a strengther or ridge filler that should do the trick!

    good luck
