Why can you only use the ipod with your finger? Like you can't use a stick or your nail...?

The touch screens of iPods respond to heat, so it's not going to work with a stick/your nail because those don't produce enough heat to activate the sensors on an iPod.

Cool Experiment: Put your finger in front of an AC vent until it gets really really cold. Quickly try to control your iPod, and it shouldn't respond as well. :)Why can you only use the ipod with your finger? Like you can't use a stick or your nail...?
well a stick or your nail doesn't cover enough surface as your finger would,

sooo i would say that its because it doesn't sense it there. Why can you only use the ipod with your finger? Like you can't use a stick or your nail...?
i think it is partly heat sensitive and because your nail has no heat it doesnt notice it.

ive always wondered that tooo.....lol
